Mondeuse Blanche
This is a light-berried vine found in Savoie, mainly around Montmélian and St Jean de la Porte. It is usually part of a blend, but when produce as a varietal it produces a dry, relatively soft white wine. Recently, DNA profiling has established that it is one of the parents of Syrah, the other being the Dureza from Ardèche. It is surprisingly not a white mutation of Mondeuse Noire.
It has several synonyms including Dongine, Donjin, Jongin and Savouette, which Viala and Vermorel in there book Ampelographie suggest that the last name "indicates that it has always had its origin in Savoie"
